#12 Forever Odd
by Dean Koontz
This is the sequel to Odd Thomas, the 11th book I read. I liked the first book better I think, but not but a large margin. In fact, I stayed up until 2:30am to finish this book, because I couldn't put it down. In this book, Odd is alerted to something bad happening to his friend by his friend's father, who has just been murdered. Odd goes to his friend's house to discover that he has been kidnapped. Odd has to use his "psychic magnetism", an unseen force that gently pulls him toward a person he is seeking, in order to save his friend. There is quite a differnet mood to this book. Rather than trying to prevent a possible massacre to save hundreds of lives, he is trying to save the life of one of his closest friends.
Again, Dean Koontz did an excellent job with this page turner. I was determined many times to stop reading at the end of this chapter, but would find myself reading on into the next chapter, having to renew my determination...at the end of this chapter.

I hope Koontz is working his devious and clever mind around a plot for a third 'Odd' book. Whatever will he call it - Odd Enough has a certain ring to it. Thanks again for reminding me of the funny parts and the basic storyline. I tend to enjoy and forget. In one ear and out the other.
No comments about this book. I just wanted to share this link that contains an interesting discussion of the Da Vinci Code - book and movies - on the London Times website. http://timesbooks.typepad.com/books/2006/05/the_da_vinci_co.html#comments
Boy, those British sure take things seriously. I though just Americans overreacted to everything.
Hmm, looks like some of the link didn't copy. I'll try it again:

Just in case, I'll type the last part: /the da_vinci-code.html#comments
Don't know if this will work or not.
So Aly, I read on booklogged's blog that you just finished a book. Are you gonna review it for us?
I don't know what booklogged is thinking because I haven't finished any books lately; although, I have started three. I decided to quit reading The Island at the Center of the World for a little while to try to catch up with some shorter books (I'm behind in my reading schedule). I'm now reading The Peacegiver and I also listened to most of No Graves As Yet while traveling this past week, but I have three CDs left to listen to. I will write some reviews as soon as possible.
I see on amazon.com that the 3rd in the Odd Thomas series, Brother Odd, will be out Nov. 28, 2006. AND there are plans for a 4th book in the series. HALLELUJAH!
